Owners often contact us almost immediately after purchase. And we understand them. Complaints are often as follows:
small pauses between pressing the accelerator pedal and the actual response of the car. The car seems to be thinking before going.;
I don't have enough confidence when overtaking on the highway – I think I have enough traction, but I want more;
In the city, we want a more responsive gearbox operation so that the shifts are more accurate and without delays.
And, of course, there is a banal interest: how will the Jaecoo J8 go after chip tuning, what will be the new sensations. You can only understand this by comparison – when you get behind the wheel and feel the difference yourself.
What have we done:
An IMCHIP representative met with the client on the way out – it is not necessary to come to the center for this, we work mobile. The firmware was filled in through the diagnostic connector of the OBD. It is fast, safe and without mechanical intervention – no opening of the control unit. Ecological systems remain intact.
What kind of increase did you get:
Stock performance of the Jaecoo J8 2.0: 249 hp and 385 Nm of torque.
After our firmware: 295 hp and 490 Nm.
The increase was +46 hp and +105 Nm.
As you can see, this engine has a good reserve that can be safely deployed. At IMCHIP, we never set a goal to get the most at any cost – we are always looking for a balance between a good increase and saving resources. We don't take "extra stuff out of nowhere" – we return the engine to its true character.
After the firmware, measurements were carried out:

Reducing acceleration time to hundreds means that at a traffic light, the car starts moving earlier than the flow. When changing lanes in dense urban traffic, you get a more confident start from the spot – the car does not "think", but immediately responds to pressing the pedal. The very pause that often causes discomfort and makes you nervous during sudden maneuvers disappears.
Acceleration is 80-150 km/ h – it is in this range that overtaking takes place on country roads. Shortening means that you reach a speed sufficient for safe maneuver faster and spend less time in the oncoming lane.
Let's summarize what you get after the procedure.:
- Safe increase: from 249 hp and 385 Nm to 295 hp and 490 Nm (+46 hp and +105 Nm);
- the car becomes noticeably more dynamic and faster;
- acceleration time is reduced;
- the accelerator pedal reacts instantly, without delays or pauses. We clicked – let's go;
- The gearbox works more responsively – the shifts become more precise and occur exactly when the driver needs it.;
- fuel consumption does not increase due to chip tuning. With a balanced ride, you may even notice a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 20%, because now you don't need to put gas on the floor to get the right dynamics. The engine delivers thrust earlier and with less effort.
The main thing is how it feels behind the wheel.:
The very thoughtfulness that irritates in stock disappears. You just press the pedal and the car reacts immediately. In the city, this makes it easy to maneuver, and on the highway, it gives you confidence and peace of mind. You stop putting extra stock before overtaking. Driving becomes more relaxed and predictable because you know exactly how the car will behave in any situation.
The Jaecoo J8 is becoming more responsive and lively.
What else is important to know:
- The dealer's warranty remains;
- If necessary, you can always return to the factory settings.;
- Sometimes the firmware needs a little time to open up. Do not be alarmed if the feeling is not 100% immediately after installation – give the system time.
